A pressure supports column of Hg to height of 256mm. Same pressure supports column of water to what height?

    ro1*h1*g=ro2*h2*g -------> h2=(ro1*h1)/ro2

    h2=(256*13600)/1000=3481 mm

    The density of mercury is 13.53 times the density of water, so the column of water will be 256*13.53 = 3464 mm = 3.46 m
