How exactly does the pseudo effect work?

Question

Well, a lot of pharmacies, doctors, etc prescribe people medicine that actually does nothing but the person they were given to actually feel a difference, also other things that use the pseudo effect...like telling someone that stretching their finger once a day will give them more energy, then the person ends up more energized etc...

i dont know exactly in big medical cases but its just a case of mind over matter like when a person looks in the mirror sees fat but is a size xxxs
