MY 19 YEAR OLD SON...GAY?

I caught my 19 year old son, Kelly in his room with a friend doing what I think, masturbating each others d!cks. I was stunned! Why I came in was because I heard hard breathing. Also while they were doing that there was a picture of two naked men on the screen.

Is this a late phase or something, or is Kelly gay???

There's a small chance he & a buddy were just wanking each other BUT they were watching gay porn. He's gay. Apologize for barging in without knocking and ask him to lock his door in the future. Tell him you love and support him and if he wants to talk about anything to come to you. That must have been very shocking to you. Have you really never seen any signs he may be gay? • ok seriously don't go and freak out... You need to be cool with him because it's going to be very hard to come out to you anyway... Don't be own of those crazy people who are all like "your going to hell!!!" and blah blah... I know you love your son and you would want him happy.. If this makes him happy don't be the one to try to take that from him.. love him and care for him the way a mom should... never know this could really bring y'all together.ha ha I thought you were a chick then I went to read some of your other questions... I think u may be the gay one,lol... can we say father like son ? maggot penis guy...lmfao

maybe maybe not. but you should accept him whether he is or not, he is your son and you will regret it if you go crazy on him and kick out or not accept who he is. just talk to him but if you cant write him a letter and explain to him that you completely understand him and that he can go to you if anything. Did they see you? if they did he might not know what to say or how to say it so you should just let him know its ok. Being gay or lesbian is nothing out of the another world anymore.

i think both you and your son should sit down and have a heart to heart talk. let him know that you love him and want to be there for him. at this time in his life he will need a lot of support and understand from you. i do understand why you walked in because of the noises you heard but just explain to him that is not acceptable in the home.

Ok, i know your shock and astonishment!

My brother who is 20, came out probably just over 6 months ago, so when he was 19!

We all had a feeling he was from when he hit puberty! But noticed more when he turned 18 and hit the clubs and made alot of male "friends"! I knew for a while, but my parents didn't know. They had feelings about it, but mum just ignored it and moved on, and my dad (being very homophobic) just avoided him and pretended like he wasn't there!

I think its hard for young men to actually tell people about this! And be judged! I think its amazing, and if they are happy being like this. Then its great! My brother has always been very down on himself and was overweight (im presuming because he was confused and down about his feelings).

When i found out for sure, and found out he had been dating (off my cousin who goes clubbing with him) i was like ohh ok cool. I confronted him and just said if he needed to talk i was here! Then he came out to my parents, told them how things were and left it! My mum was totally fine with it, just did the motherly "be safe and dont get into trouble" and the sex stuff too LOL. My dad didnt believe it. Didnt talk to my brother for months and ignored him and the news he was just told! My brother dated a man his age, for around 8 months. This was hard, as my brother and his bf never wanted to be at my house as my dad would be rude and not want him to stay the night!! Caused alot of problems in my family, not just because of my brother being gay and dad not liking it! But also between my parents!

It is what it is basically! I live in australia, and know ALOT of gay people! I think its fine, and i accept it! If your in love and happy with yourself, then its wonderful. Why would you want to change someone that enjoys their life.

It might be a fase, as my mother thinks the same about my brother. But my bro has always been the only boy at school with 10 girlfriends and no male friends. Who always dresses well and does his hair and makeup! I think its done! He doesnt act gay, (the talking and gay gestures). But hes been with men and is happy to talk about it.

Id say just have a talk to him. Dont make him feel he needs to hide it because people wont accept it! And in all this confusement, you need to think (gay or not) would you rather then practice sex and sexual acts at home, in their own privacy, or sneaking out doing it god knows where?? Id just have a talk, tell him no sleep over unless they are dating, (or what ever you rules are in the house) be a parent but also someone to confide in, as these situations are hard on people, espeically this day and age!!

    good luck!!

Sure, it could be a phase. But he's probably gay. Don't bring it up; let him talk when he's ready. And when he does bring it up, be open and accepting.
