Can I make mince pies without suet? Will it taste just the same?

    There is a recipe here that doesn't use suet. There will be little difference in taste, but the texture could be different.

    Made the original way is still done here and Australia and here they are known as 'savouries and in Australia as "party pies')

    (In the past mincemeat did, as its name implies, contain meat (beef, chicken, or fish) along with eggs.)
