Sure it does. Before the Yankees bought Babe Ruth from the Red Sox, the Red Sox won 2-3 worlds series with the bambino. And after the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth the did not win a World Series until 2004. That's a 86 year drought! Sadly the Red Sox won it again 2007. The rivalry is also fueled by the close games and events that have occured between the 2 teams. GO YANKS!!

yes. cause in 1923 when the yankees aquired the babe, the yankees started winning championships and the red sox couldn't for 86 years. [the curse of the bambino]

No, what's behind their rivalry today is that the Red Sox are a bunch of cheating, headhunting, classless thugs that stand in the way of the Yankees retaking their rightful place as World Champions.

It sure does; the Sox still fret about the Curse of the Bambino.
