What percentage of the Earth's water is drinkable?

And most of that is frozen anyways, so it's very hard to get at. Makes you think of how much water we waste, doesn't it?

97 percent of it is salty, although the other 2 percent is fresh, it is frozen into polar ice and glaciers. So all answers are wrong it's 1%. but I guess you can go with 3%
Then again you can make salt water into fresh water so some can argue that but who the hell will really go through all that trouble?
