i am replacing a light fixture with a ceiling fan with a light fixture.?

The old fixture has a black and a white wire that were attached to two white wires coming from the ceiling. There was also two black wires nutted to each other in the ceiling. Essentially there are two sets of wires in the ceiling that have a black and a white in each, and the blacks are twisted together. How do I proceed to install a ceiling fan?

Mark the white wire that was on the black wire from the light with several wraps of black electrical tape, then wire your new fixture white to white, and black to the taped lead. This should be the way the old fixture was wired. How heavy is the new unit? If more than 6 lbs, you need a special box to support the fixture.
