why do i get a box when i shut down my computer that says this program not responding end program?

    do you know what the program name is? sounds like a background service, and we all have that happen once in a while, but if you have it happen all the time you could check your log in administrator tools to find out.

    may be part of a program that you uninstalled that still uses resources but doesnt have the host program installed to shut it down properly.

    go to start> control panel> administrative tools> event viewer> applications. look for a red mark next to the last event when you shut down your system. double click the event and check the info.

    if it's a registry problem you might need http://download.cnet.com/Wise-Disk-Cleaner/3000-20... to fix the problem...be sure when it asks you if you want to backup the registry you do it :)

    Maybe because it is asking you to save changes to the file that the program is using.
