Why do many African American people think that black Africans come in shades lighter than dark brown without?

non black admixture. I've heard light skinned African Americans say with the utmost passion that they don't have a single drop of white blood in them and that black people come in all different shades which is true, in Africa there ARE different shades of full blooded African but it only gets lighter than dark brown for two reasons, non black admixture and albinism and the first is indeed very common in some parts of Africa.

I'm sorry, but when I see people with off white skin trying to pass as full black it makes me want to scream!

BTW, not that there's anything wrong with being part white, but you are what you are and you need not deny that

    I agree with you.

    The only exception are SOME of the Black Southern Africans who are naturally a lighter brown color due to distance from the equator. (Keep in mind that the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade didn't affect South Africa, so it is very rare that an African American can trace their ancestry back to that area.)

    For the people that disagree with me: I don't feel like debating this again so here is the topic that I asked that was similar to your question;

    (Also, I noticed that some users posted pictures of lighter skinned West Africans, keep in mind that;

    1. Mixing has existed all throughout history especially in Africa where some nations have been colonized for centuries.

    2. Africa is the largest market for Skin Lightening products.)

    Even though people say africans come in all shades(excluding modern Egyptians and Morrocans) I've never personally seen a lighter skin full blooded African. I guess its possible but I dont really get it either.

    It's possible. Full Africans can have lighter skin then me, I've meet many of them.

    There are different shades of West Africans, sure most are dark brown many are also medium brown or light brown.

    You don't always have to be mixed:

    Most africans I know are either medium brown or dark brown.

    Light skin West African:

    Medium brown skin Africans:

    Until people prove that all light skin West Africans are mixed I'm going to believe that they are full black.

    Because not all Africans are jet black!

    I don't understand how people who don't know anything about Africa can ignorantly say that Africans are all as black as Westley Snipes! Here are some tribal Africans and they are not dark

    I don't know because all the Africans I've seen are, dark dark dark... And black people always say that blacks aren't diverse just because of slavery, but I'm like..hello yeah that is the case in America...and then try to compare us to Africans...get out of here

    most blacks that are light or brown do have mixed ancestry
