What are some good reliable companies for external harddrives?

I am looking for a 500gb and a 1tb.

    seagate or western digital, trust me on this, you get what you pay for, the off brand names are that for a reason, i lost a ton of data when my off brand hard drive crashed. go to newegg.com, and look for a seagate, or a western digital, they also have customer reviews on the products, and they will be much much cheaper than best buy, or wal mart.

    What you should be looking for aswell as size, is Cache and rpm

    32mb cache and 7200rpm is what I'd say look into.
