The Google Redirect Virus is neither a virus or spyware. It is malware affecting microsoft windows environment and internet explorer behavour patterns. As you research everyone gives instructions to look into your registry but doesn't really provide you definitive locations. Other's provide an easy way if you download a particular program. In most cases it will scan but won't delete until you buy. However this is a ploy to get you to buy a program that will not scan or detect therefore not eliminate the problem.

A program called Malwarebytes will absolutely 100% detect the problem, quarantine and eliminate the threat. The threat is a trojan specifically exploiting "google" and the internet explore and firefox. Therefore I highly recommend safari browser to run clean in order get to malwarebytes and download it. They have a free download and a purchase one. The free download is not just a scan but will destroy. The purchase offers real time protection.
