又練習英文功力又得點數,20點翻翻看

點數太多想要消耗掉。

想說有人要練習英文。那麼試試這句看看。點數拿出來懸賞又

給大家練習好像比拿去贊助有意義一點。

「人生而有欲,欲而不得,則不能無求,求而無度量分界,則不能不爭,爭則亂,亂則窮。」

如果個人不能判定何者答案最佳時,會交給投票公決的。

最後兩句的「則」應該是「導致」「引起」的意思吧。用副詞表現

這個「則」字的方法,是否妥當,可能再斟酌一下?大家的意見以

為何?算了我放棄發問者自選權,讓大家投票可能公平適切一點。

耶?geo 的也白話易懂,但需要表達的意思卻又都表達無誤了哦!要用淺易白話表達完整意思也是要一番功力的喔。像朗文字典就盡量一律用淺易的字來解釋單字,這並不是很容易做到的。以前的字典就越解釋字越難(我喜歡舉的一個例子就是牛津袖珍字典解釋 airy 這個單字:spacious and well ventilated. 我很懷疑 airy 不懂的人能否懂 ventilated 呵呵) 扯遠了, geo 的作品白話但不遜色哩!

    好題目啊!試譯如下:

    People are born with desires.

    If desires are not fulfilled, then pursuits are inevitable.

    If pursuits are without controls and limits, then disputes are inevitable.

    Disputes lead to unrest, and unrest leads to poverty.

    回應版主:愚意 「則」 的用法同 if… then 裏的 then。但是if then用字較多。也可做「導致」解,試譯為 lead to,比較省字,似乎更像文言文的節奏。

    發現求則爭的「求」難譯。因為它不只是心裏想要,感覺上已包含了出手去取的動作。像是渴求、追求。試譯為 pursuit。

    亂則「窮」:是否真的是指貧窮?想不到別解,試譯如此,但覺得這樣說好像有點急促、突兀。感覺得解為貧窮太具體,和前面欲、求、爭、亂的概念略顯不搭。我於古書無研究,希望有專家解惑。

    I came from void and shall return to! I am sure you did too.

    I think "pursue" is better to satisfy "greed".

    Aspiration was born from human, and loss came from aspiration, then humans became desirous. Desires without limitation caused dispute leading to disorder, then humans became poor.
