I'm not a die-hard fan, but I think they have great songs.

My fav is Riders On The Storm and People Are Strange.

The Doors are great! They have some very deep and dark lyrics, yet could pull out a rock song like Touch Me with ease. Jim Morrison was absolutley beautiful to look at, although he had a lot of demons and habits that made him an interesting bad boy. The Doors were the band that expanded my musical tastes way back when. Up until Light My Fire brought them to my attention I listened to a lot of pop and MOR rock, but certainly nothing as wild and free wheeiling as The End or When the Music's Over.

They were an excellent band in a period when there were literally hundreds of excellent bands, many of them unknown to the general population. Morrison's voice and stream-of-consciousness poetry were what made them exceptional.
