What does the word margins meas?

Besides setting all margins to 1", the most important criteria for setting up a professional resume besides relevant text, is "scanability." Here are some helpful tips:

Does it mean "one agrees with the description of 1, and one wants to add something to that description on the whole" ?

Does it mean "one wants to add some footnotes to each of the contents or factors of description of 1" ?

Or please tell me what margins means.

it is for sure not "one agrees with the description of 1, and one wants to add something to that description on the whole"..margin is the side of something...it can be a verb and it can be a noun as well as other forms in everyday language..to keep some1 in or at the margin:means to keep him\her aside from the actual action.
