Is it safe to eat bagged salad with lettuce that's a little brown on the edges?

A few days ago I bought a 3 lb. bag of this pre-cut salad from the grocery store.

It says "Use before July 28." It's ziplocked, and I ate about half.

But now the pieces of the lettuce have a tiny bit on reddish/brown around the edges.

While it tastes crunchy still, it does not look all fresh and bright green/white. Is it safe to eat?

Yes it is still good, although if you see this you should use the remainder fairly quickly. The brown you are seeing on your Lettuce is called " Rust" and is typical as the cut edges begin to oxidize.

Yes just cut the brown pieces off.

it's safe, just not appealing to look at.
