Which is better Mandolin or Ukulele?

Question

I have played guitar for about 2 years now and have always wanted to try a different stringed instrument. Both the ukulele and the mandolins i have found are priced the same so i cant decide by price. Which would you recommend and why?

Play a mandolin. So many people are playing ukuleles now so try something different.

I think a mandolin's sounds are more interesting, but a ukulele is a simpler pick-up-and-play kind of instrument. It depends what you are looking for.

I had a Ukulele once, but it broke. :(

When I had it, I had a blast playing and dancing around with it. XD
