Is it correct to use "still" here?

An even harder situation is to be on the platform in good time for a train and STILL to see it go off without you.

I am wondering what "still" means, is it correct at all?

    It is correct.

    In this context, 'still' means 'nevertheless'.

    Yes it was used correctly to mean nevertheless or yet.
