Does russia have a legitimate right to be in chechnya?

    Geopolitically and historically Chechnya is part of Russia. So yes, Russia does have the Sovereign right to keep Chechnya from trying to succeed.

    Not that it matters, as Chechnya is in their sphere of influence and there is nothing that can be done to force Russia out.

    OK... I'll give two main points, one is political the other one is religious.

    Political: Officially Chechnya is part of Russia, which gives Russia the power to control their territory no matter what.

    On the other hand: Most population of Chehcnya are Muslims, so they don't want to be brainwashed against their religion. Genocide began when some groups of militants were trying to gain independence. But it's just unreal for them to win here. Look at Chechnya nad look at RUSSIA...huge difference. Anyways, my point is that Chechnya can be under Russian's control, but chechens should have all rights to explore their faith. AMEN

    Russia has about the same right as the United States had to invade the South During the war of Northern it depends on who you ask.
