Help with baby names?

My step-mom has said she'll choose a name from my list for the baby due in October as long as it's not outrageous. I'm having trouble narrowing down my list from:

Boys:

George, Sam, Logan, William, Harris, Josh, Michael, James, Jack, Thomas, Paul, Richard, Bobby, Ben, Julian, David, Ken, Joseph, Alex, Max, Logan.

Girls:

Alice, Sarah, Jane, Emily, Sylvia, Augusta, April, May, Grace, Petrova, Pauline, Winifred, Mary, Kellie, Amy (Aimee or Amy?), Georgia (or Georgina), Rachel, Laura, Lauren, Christina, Jackie, Carrie, Sam, Claire, Elliot, Ruth, Tracey, Alex, Joanna.

Ugh I have more I can't think of. For middle names, I'll choose the ones not chosen for first name. It's just one baby I don't know if it'll be a boy or girl yet.

Also, for names like Jackie, Carrie, Bobby, Sam do you think we should put Jacqueline, Caroline, Robert, Samuel on the birth cert? I have no intention of ever calling them these longer names but maybe I should suggest it anyways.

Thanks for any help =)

Ps. I'm from England these are all pretty common names maybe they aren't wherever you're from.

    Some of those names are really nice! I've listed all the ones I like and put a * with the ones I like the most :)

    George*

    Sam

    William*

    Josh

    James*

    Jack

    Thomas*

    Ben

    Joseph

    Max*

    George William, Thomas James and Max William are really nice.

    Alice

    Emily

    April - only if the baby's born in April

    May - only if the baby's born in May, but I think it's nice as a middle name for any name

    Grace*

    Amy and Aimee* - I prefer this spelling, just as it's not used as often

    Georgia and Georgina - I like both. I have a friend called Georgina and she goes by both Georgie and Gina.

    Lauren

    Carrie*

    Claire

    Carrie May and Aimee Grace are really nice.

    I don't think 'nickname' names really matter. I know two girls called Carrie, and its their proper name not a nickname for Caroline. Also, I know a Josh whose full name is just Josh, rather than Joshua. If they're going to be called by the shortened version anyway, I don't see a point in giving them the full name just for the sake of having a 'proper name'.

    If it happens to be a girl, i would choose :

    * Emily Grace

    * Rachel Kellie

    * Laura May

    * Jane Joanna

    * Tracey Lauren

    * Alice Claire

    If it happens to be a boy, i would choose :

    * Thomas Logan

    * Alex Ken

    * Max William

    * James Harris

    or Christopher Taylor

    Good Luck !

    I'm from England too. :) Anyways, i like the names:

    Boys:

    George Logan

    Bobby Harris (Robert would be best on the birth certificate)

    Julian Richard

    Max James (Maxwell for cert.)

    Girls:

    Alice Jane

    Augusta April

    Carrie Lauren

    Joanna Pauline

    Ruth Petrova

    And yes, i think for Jack Carrie Bobby and Sam (and dont forget Max) should be made longer on the birth certificate, its more original and gives the name more pep. My name is Chelsea, and i'm called Chel most of the time... My baby is going to be named Alexander, but will be called Alex. Just gives the kid more options in life! Tell your step mom congrats!

    I think you have some really lovely names on your lists, you just need to narrow them down lol.

    It it were me, my top 5 for each sex would be.....

    William - 'Liam',

    Alex,

    Max,

    Joshua - 'Josh'

    James

    boys middle name as JAMES or DANIEL as they pretty much go with everything and are great middle names for a boy

    Aimee (LOVE it!),

    Georgia (not georgina),

    Rachel

    Lauren or spelt Loren

    Claire

    girls middle names as either KATE or JAYDE as they are really pretty and go with nearly any first name

    And if you like just Jackie or Sam then just use that name. There is no sense if naming a child only to call it by a nickname all their life. Give them the name you intend on calling them by

    Good luck
