In fact Shakespeare influenced the English world. Also, in life, we often have to face trials or difficult situations. People learn how to make decisions by looking at what this great writer wrote.
To be or not to be = to do it or not
There are many times in life that we need to make up our minds. If we fail to make right decisions, the situation may get worse, and we will be in deeper trouble.
Since Shakespeare was and still is influential, his words tell people how to deal with different situations.
As for your question on why such saying with simple words and easy to understand is liked by many people, my quick answer will be:
“to be or not to be” is a typical example of what I deem as simple but effective language.
Good English does not need to be English with tons of difficult words. In fact good English is something that we write to make people understand our messages.
Language was set for communication purpose, simple and easy English is the most effective communication method.Source(s): Myself
