Can snails breath underwater?

stupid question, i know.

    don't be a fool, its not a stupid question!

    aqautic, algae-eating snails can. the yellow snails can, and are called 'golden 'mystery' snails'. you can buy them at pet sotres.

    snails CAN breath underwater if the snails u are talking about is aquatic snails. Aquatic snails are very fast and active in water but they are slow on land. They will die in a week without water.

    Hi A -

    Aquatic snails (pond snails) live in water and breath using gills. Don't place an everyday garden snail (regular snail you see on the ground) in water because he will drown. Not all of them are meant to live in water.

    It depends on how much oxygen is in the water!! My apple snail comes up for water about every 20 to 30 minutes!! If there isn't enough oxygen, and the snail doesn't have room to get air, the snail will drown!!
