Why is Michael Jackson considered an African-American icon?
Most of his best friends were white: Brooke Shields, Macaulay Culkin, Yuri Gellar, Donald Trump, Geraldo Rivera.
Both of his wives (if you could call them that) were white.
His kids are white.
About the only time he hung out with black people was when he was performing with his brothers or when he got in trouble.
And, I'll say it again...he spent years and millions trying to make himself white.
Hey, Michael Jackson was a great entertainer, innovator, philanthropist, etc.
But why do people still call him an African American icon?
I'm just asking
