Does anybody know of legitimate computer-based "work at home" businesses?
I'm looking to earn some extra money after work using my home computer. I'd rather not have to sell anything if possible and would like it to be computer-based. There are so many scams out there it's scary! Any ideas?

How To Make Money Fast Online
"How do I make money fast?" Luckily for everyone who has ever had that question come to mind there is an answer! There are several ways to make money quickly online, now we will venture through the online category.
4 websites to make money online.
1. Associated Content.
2. Cash Crate.
3. Forum booster.
4. Maverick Money Makers
Let's begin with associated content. Associated content should be the number one stop for those people who frequently ask themselves, how I could make money fast. Associated Content requires you to write content, which in other words for those who aren't familiar with the online language, content means articles.
Associated Content requires that you write articles for them, they will pay you anywhere from $3 to $40 for your content.
Most of the time however the bids that they place on your content are for much less than $10. However, this is still a great way to make money online if you can type several articles per day. You may be surprised to see how easy it has become to earn a part time income through writing for Associated Content.
The next site that we will talk about is Cash Crate. Cash Crate is a site that pays you to take surveys. They may pay anywhere from a dollar to possibly a hundred dollars, just for you to take a survey.
Doesn't sound too bad now does it? The reason they pay you to complete surveys is that companies are willing to shell out loads of cash for in-depth information from their consumers to find out exactly what they word on the street is about their product or services.
They even have a daily survey on the homepage that is guaranteed to make you some extra income; the guaranteed survey on the homepage pays $0.80. It may not seem like much but do the math, over a 30 day time period. That is almost $30 extra dollars just for taking surveys.
Are you still asking yourself that question, how do I make money fast? Well if writing tons of articles and taking surveys doesn't really sound like your cup of tea, there is always the alternative of Forum Booster.
Forum Booster is a website that pays you $0.10 for each post you make on a forum. This is great for those of us that would be searching and posting on forums either way, why not get paid for it? If you can post sixty posts in 1 hour, you can make $6, which is not that bad for earning money online.
It may not be minimum wage, but you have the advantage of being in the comfort of your own home. You can be in your pajamas sipping coffee while working on posting on these forums. Each post should be a minimum of 12 words, which is not difficult to do at all.
Overall there are tons of ways to make money quickly online but these are just the tried and true and the best of the best.

What you can do, is evaluate a few business models that have been proven to work, and then get expert opinion on each.
For example, you can go over to warriorforum.com and register for a free account, then just hang out, reading what people have to say about various business models.
A good business to look into, is one where you do not have to be stuck in front of your computer all day. One recent type of home based business that has been catching on is is home based advertising.
Advertising is big business, and as the recession eases, more companies will be putting more money into online advertising where they get more value for each dollar spent.
The better, more professionally-run businesses offer a commission for getting other people to advertise with them, and at the same time, they rebate you for buying advertising for yourself. This business model is legitimate, as long as you are getting a real service or product for any money you spend.
One note of caution.
Several states in the USA have jumped in and closed some of these companies that were doing this type of business, because they were either over-zealous, or could not properly distinguished between a legitimate company from a pyramid. One recent example of this is a company in Florida called ASD cashgenerator. Others were downright scams and deserved to be closed. It is very important that you do some good review before you spend any money on these companies.
Nevertheless, you can make some money from these companies as they do not require much work, (just about 30 minutes a day) and you can usuallys start with as little as $10.00.
Some will pay commissions of up to 15% on referrals, and your own rebates can add up to a tidy sum of money.
In the end, you have to do some due diligence on your own so that you can decide if the company you are evaluating is legitimate. I do wish you well.

If you want to make money online, from the comfort of your own home, you’ve got to be very careful. There are lot of scams on the internet, so you have to watch out.
On the other hand, check my blog. I make some good part-time money online but I had to try out many programs and systems. Now I focus on just a few of them, I work this way about two hours a day and for now I am making about $900 a month (I’ve been using my systems 3 - 4 months now, and made almost nothing the first month). But it is slowly expanding, and if I keep working the way I work now, I think I could be making $3.000 - $5.000 a month at the end of this year.
But, if you are serious about making money online, you have to know that nothing gets you nothing! You have to put some work in it and you have to invest some money for starters. For instance, I love working with GDI, and it is a system than can make you up to $4.000 a month + some big bonuses, but you have to pay for web hosting $10 monthly. I know it is hard in the beginning but I think that many other sites, that offer thousands a month without spending a single dime, are scam. So you have to be certain that you really want to work online when you start, otherwise you’d be throwing away your money.
So, what programs do I use? As I said, I love my GDI, it makes me the most money. There is also Increase Your Portion (new, but promising, just started making me more than $100), there is also a very educational SpiderWeb Marketing System. For my affiliate marketing I use Maverick Money Makers systems and it also made me some real money, so I’ll keep learning from it because this is something like a small money making university, with new lessons each month.
I put all my systems with detailed info and explanations, videos also, on a blog site so that my friends could start also. I’ll give you a link in my source so that you can check it out. Hope you’ll start making some online money soon. Good luck!Source(s): http://moneymasterelite.blogspot.com/

If you are an accomplished typist - word processor and have recently visited your local city college or university librarian, you can apply as a "certified" graduate typist, earning between $1.50 to $2.00 per page for a master or doctoral thesis. The librarian will provide you with a sample of the typing template (i.e., margin settings, font selection, page set up, etc.) in order to complete these projects using Microsoft Word. An average weekend income is about $300-$400 for two days work.

Hello Bob, There certainly are scams out there and some real lousy programs out there that aren't worth the powder to blow 'em to hell either! One thing needs to be mentioned here. In your question you said you don't want to "SELL" anything. We all sell everyday rather it is our skills or our time. We all sell because people put a "VALUE" on our time and efforts. You want to make some extra money but are afraid of being ripped off? I don't blame you. I have been scammed way too many times myself. I have found a couple of systems, programs, clubs whatever you want to call them that have EXCELLENT content and great support (something missing from 99.9% of the "Other" ones out there) I'll put the links below and seriously check them out. Dime for Dime I feel they offer "REAL" workable and sensible ideas for making money online that is really hard to find elsewhere. Are they "FREE", No. Do they require your time and effort? Yes. Can you start on the "Cheap"? Yes. But mostly they "WORK" and putting in the effort and time will be worth it. Check them out and see for yourself. Good luck Bob.

You might want to look into the reverse auction business. It is booming in Europe and was just introduced to North America last fall. It is simple and I do it all online from home and I don't have to bug anyone :-)
