<URGENT> Do you need to know Irish to study at a university in Ireland?

I only know english and polish, and a little bit of spanish, do I need to know Irish to get into a university in Ireland?

    Some universities do require Irish (NUI, TCD etc) - but you can easily be exempted from it if you went to school in another country - since you won't have had the subject to take at school.

    As you speak Polish, I'm guessing you are from Poland originally so provided you moved here as an adult you should be just fine.

    No, not unless you are studying Irish in University.

    Irish isn't needed to get into an into an Irish university.

    No I think you'll be fine with Polish unless Irish is an entry requirement for the course you want so I would check if I were you.

    The most prominent language in Ireland is English. Here are the most recent statistics for language usage in Ireland:

    English (88%)

    Irish Gaelic (8.8%)

    Scots (3.4%)

    Shelta (0.2%)

    As long as you know English you should be able to accomplish anything you want in Ireland.

    You would only need Irish if you were studying it or planning on teaching in primary schools.
