SS# send to Internal Revenue Service (IRS)?
My boss who owns a buisness gave me a job application and i gave him all my information and social security number.
He told me he has send my information to IRS is that a bad thing
can he pay his debt using my SS# to IRS
But he told me he is not Hiring me

He is allowed to request it as part of the hiring process, whether or not he ultimately hires you.
Other than using your SSN for payroll tax reporting, the law does not allow him to use it for any other purpose.
As far as using your SSN to pay his debt, think this thru: any payments made using your SSN will be applied to your account, not his. Anybody who wants to pay my tax is welcome to do so.
So, sleep well tonight. He has done nothing out of the ordinary, the law protects you from misuse of your number and if he is dumb enough to try, it works to your benefit.Source(s): 20 years as a tax professional

He is required to have your ss# to pay you. Quit worrying.
