The American Dream is achieving a level of success in every element of your life whereby others perceive you to have the "perfect" life. You are envied by others for your home, your job, your family, etc. Sometimes the "American Dream" is just that; not really realistic or attainable. Nobody is living the American Dream; everyone has aspects of their life that somehow fall short of that ideal.
