Anyone Know any Good Vampire books?

Can anyone give me some titles or authors of some really good vampire books? I'm not looking for the Twilight series or other young adult novels, but adult fiction (not smut). Thanks!

Anne Rice is the Vampire Queen. Her books are all fabulous, however, some find them boring because there is an art to reading them. Voice!

Unfortunately, her series is unfinished, and will remain so. She converted to Roman Catholicism and will not finish her series, not even for the sake of her fans.

Several movies have been made based on her books.

Read Vampire$ by John (or William) Steakley. John Carpenter totally ruined it as a movie since he has turned into a schlock master and just stamps his name on anything. The book is fantastic. It's a fast read( maybe cause it's so good) and is about a group of people whose job it is to hunt down vampires. The characters are human and you really empathize with them. It just feels real. You don't have to suspend belief cause they seem like flesh and blood characters against a formidable enemy. Happy reading.
