G or N Router

Some people said :

a) Using N router (fast) for 6M or 10M line (slow) will have problem because of the big difference in speed.

b) Using N router for small flat area ( 300 to 600 sq. ft) will allow neighboring flats to hack into your computer because the wireless signal is too strong.

Are these true? Please tell me before I decide to buy which router.

    a) Using N router (fast) for 6M or 10M line (slow) will have problem because of the big difference in speed.

No. there are no problem to connect different speed network together,

but the inter-connection speed is down graded to the slowest one

b)Using N router for small flat area ( 300 to 600 sq. ft) will allowneighboring flats to hack into your computer because the wirelesssignal is too strong.

Yes. the wireless N signal is too strong and they can be easily detected / used by the neighbouring flats users...

    Solution:

    1. hidden your network group name

    2. set password to the your network

    3. set password to the your private folders on your PC

    4. use VPN

If you had proper security set, no need to worry too much
