Does facebook automatically send friend requests?
I made a facebook with a fake name to see what the hell facebook was, but added my real high school and network are thing
then I get a ton of e-mails from people at my high school accepting my friend requests
I never sent out any, WTF? I didn't even know how to send them.
And they are not friend requests from them... they say "BLAH BLAH has confirmed you as a friend on facebook"

Yes they do. Don't listen to these guys. I'm trying to help out one of my acquaintances who just opened a new account, and is getting bombarded with messages saying people accepted friend requests (even got one from a teacher on there, which is pretty embarrassing). And there is also this article here which shows a terrible consequence for a poor fellow:
which actually made me laugh, héhé.
Hey man, if you find any solution for this ridiculous issue they should be handling, tell me about it.Source(s): My personal experience of the last few hours, and the article http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/10/04/facebook_f...

Nope....i never heard ever about this kinds of issue. if the thing is happening again and again the most probably reason could be hacking. someone might hack your account or you have installed some untrusted facebook application which is sending friend request automatically.

Yes it can. Coz you need to make sure to allow trust application to use your personal details. Facebook viruses spam bots are the latest trend in these days. They can enter your personal data as a strange application. if you allow them to use ur personal data they will do wat ever automatically.
