Ginger baker is thought to be the best. Alex Van Halen is a monster. But my favorite is Don Brewer of Grand Funk Railroad.

  • I try to shy away from the obvious Peart-Moon-Baker-Mitchell-Bonzo cabal. These are my faves:

    Levon Helm of The Band

    Danny Seraphine of Chicago

    Dennis Chambers of himself, lol

    Barriemore Barlow of Jethro Tull

    Corky Laing of Mountain, etc

    Chris Frantz of Talking Heads

    Jim Fox of James Gang

    Aynsley Dunbar, of diff bands

    Pete Escovedo, old-time latin dude

Simon Kirke of Free & Bad Co

    Graham Lear of Santana. etc

Bill Lordan of Sly & Fam Stone and Robin Trowe

    Bobby Elliot of the Hollies

Diff list than yours, but hey, we both got Dennis Chambers, though!

  • Omar Hakim for one, since you are trying to impress the fact you know your drummers, and don't want to include Kieth Moon.
