Nvidia GeForce GT 130M > NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS?

Is this right? I am getting a new laptop, and don't need a super powerful graphics card.

But I want to be able to play games like the Sims 3, Starcraft 2, Star Wars the Old Republic MMO, etc., flawlessly with no lag on high settings. Which of these graphic cards will get the job done?

Let's compare the spec's of a GeForce GT100 series, (GT130 falls in this series. It's a MOBILE Graphics Processing Unit. {GPU http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU%7D Mobile is a designation used for laptops. Hence the M, on the end of GT130M {Because they're Mobile. Desktop computers are Not considered mobile),

to the specs of a GeForce 9800GTS used for laptops,

    1.Nvidia GeForce GT100 Series mobile GPU's,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Nvidia_...

    2.Nvidia GeForce 9 Series mobile GPU's,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Nvidia_...

Bring these two pages up in two windows, so you can compare by just clicking.

Read across and look at the specs.

Some things I would like to point out,

1.Notice that the GeForce 9800GTS uses DDR3 ram memory. The GeForce GT130M uses DDR2.

2.Notice that the GeForce 9800GTS has a 600MHz Core Clock, 1500MHz Shader Clock, and 1600MHz Memory Clock.

The GeForce GT130M is 500MHz, (Core),1250MHz, (Shader), and 500MHz, (Memory), respectively.

3.Notice that the GeForce 9800GTS uses a Bandwidth of 51.2GigaBytes per Second, and a Bus Width of 256bit.

The GeForce GT130M? Bandwidth of 24GiB/s and Bus Width of 192bit.

Conclusion? The GeForce 9800GTS will SPANK the GeForce GT130M!

OH yeah. NO prob with the games you listed!

Just in case you haven't made up your mind on a computer yet you may want to check this out:

    http://laptoplogic.com/news/nvidia-geforce-gt-130m...

wikipedia tells me that the 9800m is a repackaged 8800m. There seems to be some conflicts in opinion regarding this card.

both are good video cards but the GT 130 is better than the 9800 but both are good and you could hit high settings easily on those games but idk about the old republic because idk what it's requirements are and if your on a laptop you could max out those games w/o lag
