Just because you don't like the answer, doesn't make it wrong.

Modding a Wii will void any warantee that you have on your Wii, and the legallity of it is still in question. You're better off keeping a better eye on your stuff than trying to go with a backup route.

I modded my wii. Whenever my discs are scratched I copy them or i download the iso from the net and i burn them on dvd r discs. I downloaded muramasa lately in 15 minutes burned it and played it. My dog killed the disc. I still had the image on my laptop. I copied it again. So go mod your wii. It's cheaper and easier. (Who cares about warranty? It's not like the wii has the Red ring of death.) What makes the wii really unique is the easy way to copy discs and play them instantly. If you have the appropriate chip you can even play japanese games. I've downloaded Tetsunoko vs capcom and muramasa the demon blade, 2 games which will be coming out the end of the year.

You will have to softmod your wii, but this is very easy. You can choose to back the games up on a harddisk or a DVD. Here is a great guide, but I havent tried with gamecube games, although it should work :) :

For Wii games, maybe there is software available that allows computers to copy and burn them. I'm not sure about gamecube...

Well maybe you should just keep your games somewhere where they can get them. You cannot copy games like those without breaking the law.

try to hide the games and get a disk cleaner at target or walmart
