Look, I got my 1st tattoo when I turned 50. And ya know what? No one cared, no one made a big deal, yeh there were some jokes ('aww, you're going to get a sleeve now'. and 'oh, man, you're going too far', etc.)
But , really, no one, ,... I mean it, !!! ... no one, cared! Some people were a bit curious, because they thought that they might get one... etc.
And when I got the next one, .. people just applauded me for being braver than them! And when I got the next one, they wanted the business card of my tattooist,... And when I got my last custom tattoo, (and quite visible), they were more than interested in the art work, and the beauty of the drawing, and they asked more questions about getting a tattoo, if they didn't already have one (and many already did). There hasn't been a single friend, family member, or coworker, boss, or executive, that hasn't either: wanted a tattoo, had a tattoo, or knew someone who had a tattoo.
Really, the only people who are bothered by tattoos and body art, are the very self righteous, and Christian mainstream religeous, who are bothered and scared of tattoos.
I'm just saying!.... this has been my experience! With my last custom forearm tattoo, most women (over 50 especially), are very curious, and walking the edge of the line of getting a tattoo themselves!
Because, when you get down to it, .. when you're on you deathbed, ... do you want to think: ... 'man, ... I wish that I would have gotten that tattoo'....!!
~ So, really, I don't even believe that there is an issue anymore~!
