If bible is the word of God the how can it have so many contradictions? It means its not!?

Even if there is one contradiction, then the Bible is not the Word of God!

It means bible is not reliable! And end of christianity!

Mathematical Contradictions

200 singing men or 245 singing men?

In Ezra Ch. No. 2, Verse No. 65, it says…There were 200 singing men and women –

Nehemiah Ch. No. 7, Verse No. 67…‘There were 245 singing men and women.’ Were they 200 - or were they 245 singing men and women?

Context is the same - A mathematical contradiction.

Did Solomon have 2000 baths or 3000 baths?

In the 1st Kings, Ch. No 7, Verse No 26, that…‘In Solomon’s temple, in his molten sea, he had 2000 baths.

In 2nd Chronicles, Ch. No 4, Verse No 5, he had 3000 baths.

Did he have 2000 baths or did he have 3000 baths?

How can Basha invade Judah, 10 years after his death?

It is mentioned in the First Kings, Ch. No. 15, Verse No. 33, that… ‘Basha, he died in the 26th year of reign of Asa.’

And 2nd Chronicles Ch. No 16, Verse No 1, says that…‘Basha invaded Judah in the 36th years of the reign of Asa.’

How can Basha invade 10 years after his death? - It is unscientific.

Was Ahezia 22 or 42 years old when he began to reign?

It is mentioned in the 2nd Kings, Chapter No.8, Verse No.26, it says that… ‘Ahezia, he was 22 years old, when he began to reign.’

2nd Chronicles, Chapter No. 22, Verse No. 2, says that… ‘He was 42 years old, when he began to reign. Same context.

Was he 22 years old, or was he 42 years old? - Mathematical contradiction.

How can the son be 2 years older than his own father?

Further more, in 2nd Chronicles, Chapter No. 21, Verse No. 20, it says that… ‘Jehoram, the father of Ahaziah, he reigned at the age of 32 - and he reigned for 8 years, and he died at the age of 40.

Immediately…

2 Chronicles 22:1-2

And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.

2Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

How can the son be 2 years older than the father?

Did Michal have no children or 5 sons?

Further more, it is mentioned in the Bible in 2nd Samuel, Chapter No. 6, Verse No 23, that… ‘Michal the daughter of Saul - she had no sons’ –

2nd Samuel’, Chapter 21, Verse No. 8… ‘Michal the daughter of Saul had 5 sons.’ One place it says… ‘No children, no son, no daughter’ - Other place… ‘5 sons.’

How can a man have 2 fathers?

It is mentioned in Gospel of Mathew, Chapter No. 1, Verse No. 16 - it says about the genealogy of Jesus Christ and it says that… Jesus’ father, that is Joseph - his father was Jacob’

And Luke, Chapter No 3, Verse No 23… Jesus’ father… Joseph - his father was Heli,

Did Jesus’ father… Joseph, have two fathers ?

Was it Heli - or was it Jacob ?

Clear-cut contradiction.

(Sigh) A contradiction that is not a *logical* contradiction is no contradiction at all. Let's stop, take a breath, and get ready to apply some really basic common sense.....

    1) 200 singing men or 245 singing men?

If there were 245, then there HAD to be 200. How can you have 245 without having 200?

    2) Did Solomon have 2000 baths or 3000 baths?

First, a "bath" is a measure of volume - like a gallon. It's not referring to Solomon *taking* a bath.

Naturally, if the "sea" holds 3,000 baths, it HAS to be able to hold 2,000.

    3) Basha - bible does not say what you claim - at least, not in those verses. The simple answer (without knowing the correct verse) is that there is more than one person in the history of the world named Basha.

    4) Was Ahezia 22 or 42 years old when he began to reign?

Only a very few bibles make this claim - based on a particular source text. Most, if not all, modern bibles rely on source texts in which both are stated to be 22.

    5) How can the son be 2 years older than his own father?

Obviously, there is more than one guy named Jehoram. In fact, there are two according to the HarperCollins Bible Dictionary.

    6) Did Michal have no children or 5 sons?

The problem here is (believe it or not) your insistence that the word "to" in verse 23 means "from the time she was born until" when in fact it means only "from that moment until"

    7) How can a man have 2 fathers?

    When one is adoptive.

As you can clearly see - not a single one of your claimed "contradictions" is a *logical* contradiction except for the "Ahezia" one - and I notice on that web page that the bible version is not mentioned (I could not find that name spelled that way). You really should copy from a more trustworthy web site next time..

Why is this question in the "singles & dating" category???

Anyway, one problem is translation. You are reading texts in English that have been translated from ancient Aramaic, Greek, Hebrew, etc. Sometimes they are interpreted different ways. Sometimes the difference is cultural; for example, in regard to years, Egypt sometimes counted 6 months as a year, since they had two flooding seasons each year to count from.

The difference in geneaology is probably due to the different answers that Luke and Mathew got when they asked who Joseph's father was. It's also possible that they went by both names.

Anyway, the Bible was never meant to be a science book or a technical spreadsheet. It's a book of history, morality, and God's love. The important stuff is all there.

Does it really matter whether Solomon had 2000 or 3000 baths? Or does it matter more the story of how he chose wisdom over wealth or power?

You don't understand the verses. They don't contradict each other. Matthew 19:26 is saying that all things are possible for God. Things that are impossible for man is possible for God. In Hebrews 6:18 It is impossible for God to lie. That means that the Word is God and He is the Word. If something is your Word and all things are yours what you say or do is never a lie. His word is it. Jesus is the Word made flesh. That is why He can't lie. Hope this helps.

The bible is not the word of god but a book composed by the followers of jesus and people who taught the lessons of god. The christian bible (new testament)however was compiled by the papacy from the writings of the followers of jesus therefore it can hardly be trusted as the papacy has been known to manipulate things to their own agenda.eg.crusades

Religion is a product of MAN and Government Control.

Takes alot of intelligence and common sense to look right through the illusion.
