How will Obama provide insurance for 47 million Americans without raising taxes or rationing services?
Is there something I missed?

He Can't and won't. It is economically impossible no matter what political belief one holds. They would have to tax people across the board like history has never seen. As it is almost half of the budget is borrowed. The worse the economy gets though the better because then the Government can gain more control through bailouts.
The real reason for the push for health care is to make everyone more reliant on the Government for every little thing in their life. This way the middle class will get the welfare mentality and lose the concept of personal responsibility. Everyone needs to realize that lining up at the trough is never free.Source(s): Logic

In the US stats don't change much unless it starts affecting the rich. Nearly 40 percent of the uninsured population reside in households that earn $50,000 or more.1 A growing number of middle-income families cannot afford health insurance payments even when coverage is offered by their employers. Why is the number of uninsured people increasing? Millions of workers don’t have the opportunity to get health coverage. A third of firms in the U.S. did not offer coverage in 2006.4 Nearly two-fifths (38 percent) of all workers are employed in smaller businesses, where less than two-thirds of firms now offer health benefits to their employees.7 It is estimated that 266,000 companies dropped their health coverage between 2000-2005 and 90 percent of those firms have less than 25 employees. Rapidly rising health insurance premiums are the main reason cited by all small firms for not offering coverage. Health insurance premiums are rising at extraordinary rates. The average annual increase in inflation has been 2.5 percent while health insurance premiums for small firms have escalated an average of 12 percent annually.4

Not sure why the Government should be providing health care to those 47 million.
Of that number, how many could afford health insurance, but choose to spend their money on other things instead? If you can afford cell phone service, bottled water, video games, high speed internet, soda, lunch out, and 22 HBO stations, you can afford health insurance.
And, the Government already provides health care for the truly destitute. It is called Medicaid.

The short answer is that he won't. Taxes are going to go up and services down as sure as the sun will set here in a few hours and the night will be dark. Good luck to you

Rhoda, you and all the Obama faithful need to come to grip with the fact that he cannot do all he promises. I'm truly sorry if that disappoints you, but no one can do what he claims can be done. He simply cannot pay for all of the things he is promising, and that is a mathematical reality. You would be wise to question everything that all politicians say.

He can't ! There w/be some type of tax,if it passes.Services & quality of care will go down. Not enough Dr.'s & care givers now,add 47mil.more and you see the problem. No more thought given to this problem than the rest.Less care for higher cost.Change you can believe in.Ho Ho Ho ! Another solution for a better tomorrow.

How about we start with reigning in insurance company CEO pay. The United States spends twice what Canada does on health care, and Canada does provide health care for all its citizens. I would suggest that all entities involved in health care can no longer be "for profit" endeavors, as health care, or someone's bad health, should not be a profit generating industry.
