When I joined a group of mums, there was one who was just better in every way (if you'd believe her). If you told her your child had just started walking, she'd say that hers had been walking for weeks. If you mentioned that you made all your own baby food, hers would be home grown organic. Whatever you said she'd have to outdo you and she would always patronise you with all the parenting knowledge that she had (the same as the rest of us first-time mums). Ever since meeting her, I have grown more and more wary of these 'Supermums' as I call them. I dislike when people think that they're a better parent because they breastfeed/work full-time/use all organic produce etc. I make a point of telling people that I am not perfect, I make mistakes. I'm a good parent because I learn from my mistakes, I'm not a Supermum who gets everything right first time.
