Trying to lower my body fat percentage, and get nice toned abs?

I'm 20 years old, a college dude, and work part-time. I joined a gym about a month and a half ago. I'm meeting with a trainer, and Im gaining more strength. My body fat percentage is 17%. I have nice toned arms, but I have a couple extra pounds. I don't have a flat stomach yet, but I'm almost there.... show more I'm 20 years old, a college dude, and work part-time. I don't have a flat stomach yet, but I'm almost there. You can't realize it if I have a shirt on, but it embarrassses the hell out of me. My body fat has dropped recently. I have a good diet. I eat three meals a day, and two snacks in between.

I don't drink soda, don't eat candy, and I limit sugar. How soon should I have flat abs, or a flat stomach?
