Re metrolink tickets do you need to validate them?

I'm confused I have used one way and round trips(Los Angeles) metrolink tickets

Fare inspectors/officers have check my tickets and they passed

but other people tell me I have to validate the tickets

I'm confused!

    You don't have to validate one-way or round trip tickets. You only have to validate the 10-trip tickets (so that they can make sure you don't use it more than 10 times).

    I not familiar with Los Angeles Metro, but we have similar situation here in New Jersey and New York.

    For Metro Raillink, only ten trip ticket must be validaded at validater machine similar to New Jersey transit lightrails, Hudson-Bergen Lightral, RiverLine, Newark City subway, well as NYC's Bx12 BRT.

    yes you can use the metrolink as all day pass on metro even ones that do not service union station its also on most other transit agencies like long beach, OCTA, Torrance etc metrolink operates on the honor system

    u only have to validate 10 tip tickest and and the think montly passes
