Would libs have "celebrated diversity" if Bush had appointed Alberto Gonzales to the Supreme Court?

I don't remember that from Clarence Thomas' nomination

Update:

Or were they "bad" minorities?

No. Also, look up what the Democrats did to ruin Miguel Estrada's chances. They targeted him BECAUSE he was Hispanic.

I'm not sure if your 100% statistic is correct, but what I find disturbing is that you don't discuss the merits of any cases; you have this expectation that the Supreme Court should rule against corporations. Why? What legal reasoning do you provide for this? The purpose of justice is to apply the law, not to go after groups of people for reasons other than them violating the law.

Actually, "Pay It Forward", diversity isn't about just finding the person most qualified for the job. Educate yourself on Ricci v Destefano. Or Regents of the Univ. of Calif v. Bakke.

"Diversity" now is about finding the person post qualified for the job, so long as they're a certain color. It's about making the photo op and twisting real life into some "Finding Forrester" cliche.

    Much like the nomination was.

They danced around the diversity issue with Thomas by getting someone who was both a minority and female to slander him.

That also pretty much ruined her career though - she was teaching law at a prestigious law school and is now teaching women's studies at cash-strapped ultra-left-wing Brandeis.

Gonzales is a war criminal and a buffoon. Thomas does whatever Scalia tells him to do. When Scalia sneezes, Thomas catches a cold.

Clarence Thomas will never be the great man that Thurgood Marshall was well before he reached the Supreme Court. And Alberto Gonazles and Harriet Miers, their minds combined, would not be as good as Sonia Sotomayor.

Celebrating diversity doesn't mean you don't want someone qualified. You can have both.

Gonzales and Thomas are two giant tools, no one with intelligence would have nominated either one.

No why should they allow an advocate of torture onto the Supreme Court?

Wasn't he the one who went to a doped up mans(Attorney General Ashcroft) hospital room to get him to sign off on waterboarding?
