The source says the planned reboost on day 8 of the mission was cancelled because it wasn't needed and to save propellant.

the original estimate was a controlled re-entry of HST in 2020 without a reboost by the shuttle.

the reboost scheduled by NASA for day 8 was cancelled, but I can't help but think that was a bad idea.

still, if they knew ahead of time that weather in Florida would be crappy and force a landing in California, maybe they were being over-cautious.
