CA IS A GENUINE PRODUCT http://www.shopbot.com.au/default.asp?kw=ca+intern...
Not scam, Not a rouge AV, http://reviews.cnet.com/4505-3667_7-32653564.html?...
Although not the best, it does the job. I suggest using revo uninstaller also. Removes everything even the littlest traces.
PS: AVG 8 provides a LOW 81% detection rate and it has FALSE positives, that is non-viruses will be detected as viruses.
AVG Free does not contain Anti-Rootkit protection so rootkits may be hidden in your system.
AVG Free does not contain the Safe Downloads & Instant Messaging protection (Web Shield technology) so it does not screen your downloads and communication for viruses and spyware.
AVG Free does not protect against identity theft, hacker attacks, infected downloads, infected instant-messaging and spam.
AVG Free does not contain a firewall which can protect you from hackers acquiring access to your computer.
(AVG state this themselves, just click the link below and scroll down)
Also answerers must understand, a free anti-virus alone can't fully protect a system.

It's a scam. There's a lot of bogus antivirus out there that'll actually hijack your computer and screw with your internet. Do yourself a favor and get Spybot Search&Destroy, AVG Free 8.5, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. These are all free programs and when used together will make your system very secure and safe from future virus threats.
Install those three, and try to uninstall the CA and Ez trust crap, run Spybot, AVG and Malwarebytes and make sure you get the latest updates. Hopefully this will help.

CA antivirus is rogue security virus, others may say not, but when you cant wipe it out of your computer its a scam to get you to sign up, dont do it! you can however use AVG antivirus and removet the file thats still stuck in your files. its a pain in the *** as it wont delete on your add remove etc. some will say avg wont work etc, but it will, i just did 2wks ago. if you go to www.avg.com, download AVG antivirus and run the scan, it will isolate that file as rogue or adware and show you the infected file as it will place it in the vault to be removed. after running the AVG scan and sending it to the virus vault, you will be able to see your files that are infected etc. you can have the file removed this way.
1. power off computer
2. power on, tap F8 key continuously until you see safe mode, click safe mode and proceed. once computer is powered up, you can in safe mode, go to www.avg.com and download AVG antivirus program.
3, once its downloaded, run the virus scan, it will isolate the infected files and warn of any possible problem files and isolates them. once the files are in the virus vault they are already quaranteened, just click remove all unhealed infections and your good to go! your computer should be wiped clean of that rogue antivirus program, just run your antivirus scan again for a total of 2 times just to be sure all infected files are removed. you will notice by this point after the 1st scan that your computer is back to optimal functioning and the virus is GONE! technically it may not be considered a virus, but when you have a file, or a program, and you cannot delete it from add/remove programs, its a form of trickery obviously to get you too sign up etc. i hate those programs man, but hey, everyone on here has a different opinion of what works and what doesnt, you got too watch as some of these folks are with the antivirus companies and they sit on YAHOO QUESTIONS IN SEARCH OF SALES...and to market theyre goods or companies products, typically its the person who will bash and deter those with viruses to stay away from FREE antivirus programs, why? because theyre free! they cant make doe that way... anyway, give it a shot, your case is simple, very easy, just follow the steps and youll be good to go!

Why not try Revo uninstaller. If you can exit the program' Exit it first. Stay away from AVG. It sux. It's one of the worst AV's out there. Only noobs and the ones who don't know any better use it.
By the way' CA anti virus isn't a scam. There is a way to uninstall it. If you didn't exit the program first that is prob' your problem. Revo should do it.

It's a smitfraud (bogus software program). It probably came in through a toolbar that you installed for your browser, pirated game/software,porn trailer,or you clicked on some advertisement so you'll need to uninstall it.
Go to Major Geeks @ http://www.majorgeeks.com and get the SmitFraudFix and run this program only in safe mode.
