*Basically both are same but the application is different.
-A mechanical fan is an electrically powered device used to produce an airflow for the purpose of creature comfort (particularly in the heat), ventilation, exhaust, cooling or any other gaseous transport.
Mechanically, a fan can be any revolving vane or vanes used for producing currents of air. Fans produce air flows with high volume and low pressure, as opposed to a gas compressor which produces high pressures at a comparatively low volume. A fan blade will often rotate when exposed to an air stream, and devices that take advantage of this, such as anemometers and wind turbines often have designs similar to that of a fan.
*While ordinary or commodity “fans” move air, they simply lack the aerodynamics to circulate air. Specifically, fans have a wide dispersion pattern with no room penetration. Because of this, you must have the fan blowing on you in order to derive comfort.
What’s more, the ability of a Air Circulator to move air over long distances affords you a variety of uses including air exchange between rooms, up the stairs or down the hall. No ordinary fan delivers comfort like a Air Circulator.

A fan is a type of air circulator. A convention current is another.
F(x) = Aircirculator(fan)

A contact is a thin plastic or glass lens that is fitted over the cornea of the eye to correct various vision defects. A fan is a device for creating a current of air or a breeze.

A fan is someone who adds YOU and you do not add them back--a contact is someone who adds you and you DO add them back. After adding both of each other, you stay fans but also contacts with them. (: It got me confusing, too, lol.
