.45 ACP is also known as .45 Auto and .45 Automatic Colt Pistol. ACP is an acronym for Automatic Colt Pistol and Auto is an abbreviation. They are all the same exact thing.
There are many manufacturers (I can't think of any ammo manufacturers that don't make .45 ACP). Winchester is just one of those makers.
.45 ACP is not a brand, it is a chambering. .45 ACP Winchester, .45 ACP Hydra-Shok, and .45 ACP Fiocchi are all the same chambering and will fit in the same firearm.
Granted some brands will function better in different firearms than others, but all .45 ACP will fire in a firearm chambered for .45 ACP.

Colt developed 3 45 caliber cartridges- 2 rimmed rounds for the revolver, one longer than the other, and a rimless round for auto pistols. The shorter revolver round has died out, so that leaves 45 long colt or 45 LC, and 45 automatic colt pistol, or 45 ACP, which is exactly the same thing as 45 auto.

Two names, one cartridge.
Some people use ".45 ACP" to refer only to military standard 'hard-ball'
loads, but it's by no means a standard nomenclature.
