would it sound like : IK- HOLD- fan-Di?

    Yep. "Fan" is pronounced a lot like "from", "dy" is pronounced like "thy", but with a "d" since most Germanic languages lack the "th" sound. Anyways, I'm glad to see to see others studying Frisian besides me. One thing about it is that it's easy to sefl-teach, being that you can read it like English, the "Ik hâld fan dy" looking nearly identical to "I hold from thy", and you can go about it much the way you would learning Chaucer's English by learning the differences from English as you go along.

    yes, that's correct, if you pronounce the a in fan as the a in in hard and di as dee.
