why is my usb laser mouse pointer dancing about at start up?

Rasmus has the right answer, but I would swallow all the spit in your mouth and blow hard instead of risking scratching the lens with a pointy object.

I thought my lasermouse was done aswell.. I found out that a tiny hair had found its way up the mouse, and was blocking the lense. I took something pointy and got it out, good as new.
