Can I install an electric dog fence in a townhouse?
I live in a townhouse, and would like to install an electric dog fence. Does the underground wire have to loop the property, or can I make it surround the 3 sides of the backyard?

I might be wrong, but I think in order for an electric current to work, it has to loop and connect somehow?
"Remember that the wire must make a loop. In other words, you can't dead end with an unattached wire—it must complete a circuit from the transmitter, around the area you wish to protect, and back to the transmitter again. "

You dont have to loop around the entire property.. you can just loop it around the area you want your dog to have access to.. but it must make a loop for the electric current to work.

You should be able to make it work; the only issue is that the wire has to make a loop of some kind. You can do it by having it double back over itself along the perimeter, or you could simply circle the yard including on the 4th edge.

u bury the wire in the ground and yes any point ur dog can get out needs to be in the perimeter

yes as long as it attaches to to back of the house, and the yard is blocked off in the perimeter
