The stand has three tiers and is the heart of the stadium, housing the tunnel, dugout, dressing rooms, conference room, press centre, AV and commentary box.
The middle tier is occupied by facilities, clubs, and executive suites. The upper tier provides spectators with one of the best views in the stadium.
不好意思 我看到回答的時候只有到「Tickets tend to run out within 2 to 3 hours of going on sale.

I'll begin with Q2, as Q1 & Q3 are somewhat related.
Normally, the most expensive tickets should put you in the best seats, which means West upper should be the best spot in Stamford Bridge.

In most stadiums, the biggest stand is the best viewing spot and it will also have all the facilities. However, it is not the case in the Bridge as West Stand is bigger and newer, but the East Stand houses the facilities.

I sat in East upper for both of my previous visits to the Bridge; therefore I cannot make a comment on whether West Upper has a better view.

My guess is that Chelsea charges a higher premium for West Stand simply because it is newer, and it costs quite a fortune for the refurbishment, as the old Chinese saying, For viewing the match, I’ll say East Stand is just as good as West Stand, if not better.

By the way, if you want to experience the real Chelsea atmosphere, here is another option. According to my friends, as the tickets become more and more expensive, the hardcore supporters have been out-priced and they have since move over to Matthew Harding Stand.

When I said tickets are hard to get during X'mas, I meant not only for general sale, but also for True Blue members. In fact, my friends told me that Chelsea tickets are quite difficult to get nowadays, especially for popular matchups. Tickets tend to run out within 2 to 3 hours of going on sale.

They also told me they haven't been able to obtain tickets through the normal procedures in recent years. For the last few matches they attended, they got their tickets from touts (黃牛).
For the same reason, they never completed the online purchase process and don't know how the seat selection is done.

If you go to the Box Office, you will be able to select your own seats; however, that is not feasible for you as you would like to have the ticket bookings confirmed before going to London.

My advice is that, if you wish to buy your tickets online, join True Blue first (or should I say MUST). It is virtually impossible to obtain tickets if you are not a member. Furthermore, logon to the site and get your tickets as soon as they go on sale, don't leave it late.

As a backup plan, there are always touts outside the stadium selling tickets on matchdays, and they ask £60 to £100 for a ticket normally.
I do hope my answers are helpful. Let me know if you have any further question.

Since you are going to join True Blue, you can buy your away ticket from Chelsea. This is also the only way you can be sure that you'll sit with Chelsea supporters in the away visitors' area.

As I mentioned previously, get your tickets as soon as they go on sale, before worrying about your accommodation and flight. You have 4 weeks between confirmation of your tickets and the match, which should give you enough time to find a hotel and sort out your flight.

I suggest you fly CX to London. Although you have to transfer in HK, it gives you a lot more flexibility as CX operates 4 flights daily between HK and London. If you do have difficulties booking your flight, let me know, I probably can help you out as I travel quite a lot (unfortunately).

I suppose touts adjust their prices according to the demand for the tickets as well as the original prices. For example if you are going to Tottenham to watch the game, and the initial prices for tickets in White Hart Lane are cheaper than the Bridge, perhaps touts also ask for lower prices.
However, the story might be totally different if you are going to the Emirates, as the demand for such matchup is high. Touts will probably still charge you more even if they aren't as expensive as the Bridge. It really depends both on the stadium as well as the fixture, if you know what I mean.

I'll try to get my friends to find out more about the seat selection procedures for online ticket purchase, and hopefully I can tell you a bit more info.
