Washington thought of the Native Americans as a threat. During the French and Indian War, he witnessed Braddock's defeat. The saw that they could wage war successfully. He also realized that there was not way to prevent having a conflict since the Americans had a view that man should control nature as God intended while the Native Americans felt that nature should be used not exploited. George Washington was a man of his time and he thought that the Natives did not use the land wisely and therefore others should be in charge. Last he never trusted them. He saw how they could influenced by both the English and French and there for supported the powers that would compete with America.
