I have wondered that myself. I have laid in my bed, after a brutal generalized tonic clonic seizure, my head throbbing as if it's been run over repeatedly by a semi truck, my body aching, my tongue shredded, trying so so desperately to get some rest, only to hear that LOUD, incessant, mocking, God damned song.

I wish they were banned in my state.

Because they show us our imperfections in a satirical song. We are being refined by God is all. Nobody is pefect.

The bird that mocks me makes me stronger. After a good shag, that is.

Because it's a sin "To Kill A Mockingbird."

Same reason he allows black holes to exist or dark matter to exist or you to exist.
