I want to embed this video from the BBC website into a PowerPoint. How?
Here is the video...
And Here is the embed code:
<object width="512" height="400"><param name="movie" value="http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/emp/external/player.s...
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param>
<param name="FlashVars" value="config_settings_showUpdatedInFooter=true&playlist=http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/emp/8000000/8009400/80...
<embed src="http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/emp/external/player.s... type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="512" height="400" FlashVars="config_settings_showUpdatedInFooter=true&playlist=http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/emp/8000000/8009400/80...
This is for educational purposes, should anyone want to know.
This is not a YouTube Video... I cannot find an associated flash file or crack all of this coding... HELP!
Never Mind... Worked it out
Basically, you take the embed code, and in the embed tag there is a FlashVars parameter. Then you go to http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/emp/2.10.7938_7967/9p... and after the equals, you put in the contents of the FlashVars parameter. Put that url into PowerPoint's Shockwave Flash Object (the Movie setting). And volia!
This will not work for iPlayer videos, just the ones in the news articles

As for embedding videos into powerpoint, a can't explain it better than this vid on youtube:
However, you're problem will be getting the url of the bbc video because it's probably not static and will require validation posts before a url can be retrieved...
I suggest you just download the video and keep a local copy of it to embed (via the normal Insert -> Movies and Sounds -> From a File)
Yes the bbc is a real pain when it comes to downloading their videos. The best way is to get them to think your browser is a ipod then download the .mov file:
(http://po-ru.com/projects/iplayer-downloader/ is a great tool for this if you could find it on bbc.com/iplayer)
Nice one, how did you resolve it?

technique a million: Direct insertion Step a million: on the Insert tab, factor to videos and Sounds, and then click action picture from document. Step 2: click the video you opt to apply and then click ok. Step 3: once you click ok, you' are promoted with a message asking the way you desire the action picture to start up in the slide instruct. i like to recommend you picking "quickly "no matter if you desire the action picture to play at the same time as clicked. and that is carried out.
